About Our Practitioners

Angela Galatierra-Ganding, is a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist.  She graduated from the University of Winnipeg, in Canada, with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Chemistry.  Angela always had a passion to work in the healthcare field, and to follow this dream, she decided to move to California to pursue graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  She obtained a Master's of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley.

Her clinical experience is accumulated through various types of settings including chiropractic clinics collaborating with other like-minded healthcare professionals, and the University of California Berkeley Sports Center, where she treated student athletes with various sports related injuries.  Angela also had the opportunity to work at the Homeless Prenatal clinic in San Francisco, treating a variety of women's health issues.  Angela is passionate about continuing to learn new methods in the field of acupuncture and complimentary medicine, and she is an advocate for utilizing a comprehensive approach to healing.

It is with these experiences, as well as the years she has been in private practice that have shaped her to the committed and compassionate practitioner she is today.  She is excited to continue to share this fascinating medicine with you.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Sheila Shahmirza embarked on the path toward Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine after navigating her own struggles with chronic headaches and finding relief through acupuncture. Merging her personal experience and interest in health and wellness led her to pursue a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from AIMC Berkeley, where she focused her studies in treating women's health, endocrine and autoimmune conditions.

Prior to beginning her studies of Chinese Medicine, Sheila also trained in massage therapy and earned a certification in sports massage which helps guide her treatments of orthopedic injuries and pain management. Her treatment approach is individualized to address the root cause of a person's condition and to access their innate healing ability.

When not treating patients, she enjoys venturing outdoors, spending time with her dog on hikes and leisurely walks and cooking with her family at home.
